We are excited to announce our fall 2006 schedule of meetings and workshops.
We are sponsoring three different types of workshops and meetings this fall. We'll have monthly workshops for teen services, hands-on technology workshops on technologies teens use, and training for all staff on working with teens successfully. Each type of training is listed separately on this blog within its particular category - monthly meetings, training for general staff, and workshops. But, to make life easier here's the full list

Theme: The Who, What, and Why of Teens - Part 1
Focus: An overview of teen developmental assets with a focus on how to meet the assets via teen library space and through effective discipline techniques. We’ll also showcase the exciting teen spaces we visited in Phoenix. And, just by attending—you can win a MAKEOVER for your library’s teen space.

Focus: Meeting teen developmental assets through programming and collections

Regional meetings for general library staff
••Everyone Serves Teens, Part 1—The first of a two-part workshop for General Staff: includes Reference, Circulation, Children’s, Directors, Clerical and Custodial. Everyone is welcome. All are encouraged to attend.

Theme: Teen Services for generalists
Focus: What general staff needs to know to be welcoming, effective and supportive of teens and teen services. Includes opportunities to practice effective methods for communicating with teens and practical tips on working with teens in the library.
